Senior management from H. Sterling Group and Yantai LNG paid a visit to the United States from December 4-12, 2019. The team visited a number of upstream and midstream LNG companies based in Houston, Texas, including leading LNG developers and several LNG liquefaction project developers. The team also made site visits to multiple liquefaction projects. Discussions ranging from future upstream supply for Yantai LNG to potential collaboration in US project development were held. The team continued its visit in New York, where they met with leading US energy investment companies to explore joint investment in the energy sector in both the US and emerging markets.
With enormous amounts of natural gas reserves and well-established infrastructure, including thousands of kilometers of pipelines, the US has great potential to become the second largest LNG supplier in the world and meet growing demand from emerging markets for clean power—especially China, which is undergoing a significant energy transition away from coal power.
