Embassy of Canada to China Visits Yantai LNG

A delegation from the Embassy of Canada to China visited the Yantai LNG receiving terminal on March 24, 2021. Wang Xiaofeng, Executive President of Yantai LNG project company, Shandong Poly-GCL Pan-Asia International Energy Co., Ltd., received the delegation members and explored possibilities for cooperation between the two countries at the terminal. Yantai LNG is actively engaging with large natural gas suppliers around the world to enhance Yantai LNG’s market competitiveness in China.


A delegation of five members, including Commercial Counselor Jason Reeve, First Secretary of Trade Policy Brian Shipley, and Chief Representative of the China-Alberta Investment Bureau Kevin Tsui, were invited to visit the Yantai LNG project site. Construction Manager Wang Changbing and management received the delegation for a friendly discussion and site visit.


During the discussion, Wang Changbing explained Yantai LNG’s development timeline, construction progress, and future direction. The delegation then visited the pile foundations currently under construction for the LNG storage tanks at the terminal site. Commercial Counselor Jason Reeve commended the project’s construction speed and spoke highly of the project’s management and epidemic controls. Mr. Reeve said that he would actively work to develop future cooperation between Yantai LNG and Canada along the entire LNG value chain.
